ALWAYS HAPPY TO HELP

About me.

I am Andra, welcome to my website. Below I’ll tell you a bit more about who I am and what I can do for you.

As a businesswoman, I help other business people identify their brand strength, shape their values and translate them into a brand identity. I design, consult and manage.

Do you need a visual identity or visual material for your project? Together we will create an authentic and appealing design that conveys your brand message and reflects your personality. I’ll advise you on design and media matters along the way and manage all printing and delivery processes. So let’s get creative and bring your brand to life!

A MAGIC TOOLBOX

The Art of Tippytoeing

So, why Tippytoe Design? Honestly, don’t you just love the sound of that word? Makes you smile, doesn’t it? Well, me and my friends had to grin when I first came up with the name. I took that as a good sign.

Wiktionary tells us that there are three uses for tippytoeing: to be taller, to move more quietly, and to spin more easily. From my point of view, it sounds like a magic box of tools: Reach up to the stars to see and touch things you couldn’t see from the ground. Turn 360°, look in all directions before choosing your path. Move like a leopard in the night, smooth and elegant, get where you want to go without making a fuss. Not bad, I’d say.

So, what does this mean for you? In terms of design work, you can expect smooth project processes that are as flexible as a tip-toeing ballerina. I always try to look in all directions without preconceptions, sometimes the right path is the least expected one. Brands that stand out usually have something unexpected about them at first. And like the leopard on the hunt, I will listen to what you have to say and talk openly with you about my ideas for solving your problem.

Long story short: The art of tippytoeing is complexity made look simple, which is essentially what good design should do.

LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF

My Story

“It’s the doing and the loving of the doing that brings happiness”.

I am a passionate businesswoman who loves creating new things, bringing ideas to life and pulling the strings. There’s always been something magical and deeply fulfilling about the creative process of crafting an identity and visually infusing it with values. In a way, every one of my projects has been about creating a brand.

After graduating from university, I gained experience at a strategic brand consultancy. I quickly took on graphic design tasks at the interface between the advertising agency and the print shop. But soon I realised that I had to stand on my own two feet. In March 2011 I founded my very own brand with a friend: as one of the first organic frozen yogurt shops in Germany ‘Erna & Käthe hausgemacht’ had a lot more than only frozen yogurt to offer. Recognising trends and then putting them into practice gave us a distinct advantage back then.Today the small café offers business lunches, vegan specialities and wedding and corporate catering – the range has evolved but the values remain the same – delicious, honest food in a trendy look.

I then moved to Spain as a digital nomad. Always open to new and exciting opportunities, I started freelancing for an IT startup. Here I learned a lot about working in a large team between client, designer and developer. There is hardly any other situation where so many different perspectives and priorities come together. Balancing these different expectations as a project manager was not always easy, but challenges make you grow.

At the same time, I completed a distance learning degree in graphic design and co-founded a bar in the heart of Barcelona.
With Covid coming up in 2020 and the temporary closure of all gastronomic activities, the opportunity arose to take on a new project: The renovation of a 130-year-old townhouse in a small village in the heart of Mallorca. The biggest project of my life so far, because one house demands a lot more than a thousand clients! And yet I love bringing back the essence of those old walls and making them shine in new splendour. And I totally fell in love with this beautiful island.

So I decided to stay and launch Tippytoe Design and here we are.
I look forward to working with you!
